Happy Diwali!!

These are the lines in background that goes illegible due to the color scheme of the blog.  But somehow as I like those lines I am bringing it in front.

We meditate on the glory of the creator,
Who has created the Universe,
Who is worthy of worship,
Who is the embodiment of knowledge and light,
Who is the remover of all sin and Ignorance,
May HE enlighten our Intellect.
-Gayatri Mantra

Some essential disclaimers:
A common question is being answered to all. Yes you can come with your other friends who want to join us. Its an open event where students other than swastikans are also welcome . The only matter of concern is that they should not create any nuisance.

All participants have to arrange for traveling means on their own. If any one wants Swastik to arrange for their conveyance they can be arranged if we are informed by sunday evening last.

While driving and during entire event all students are requested to take care of their safety...

Time Management and Its Value

Time”!! Something indefinable, you can just feel moment passing, life passing, opportunities passing, and ultimate key to success. Value Time and you will be able to manage it, manage time effectively and you will understand its value.

To know value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed in his exam.
To know value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature child.
To know value of one week:
Ask a weekly editor
To know the value of one hour:
Ask a student who is writing his exams
To know value of one minute:
Ask a professional who has missed his flight
To know value of one second:
Ask a person who had just met with an accident

Value time and people will value you. All of us need to manage and value time.  As one third of our lives have passed, let us not do the same with the rest and let’s make something valuable out of ourselves.  A person with managed time enjoys his life to the fullest at all given situations of life. Developing routine and adhering strictly to it will let you enjoy every activity of life.   Thus it’s been rightly said that manage time and then time will manage everything else for you.

Censorship: Now it is Internet

Blocking sites for secular and political reasons is nothing new and not something unheard of.  We have been getting such news from Middle East countries since long back.  Even Dubai and UAE had once blocked social communities like Orkut and Facebook.  But to hear something of that sort from West the real originator of the network is something surprising.
With the latest discussion of COICA (Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act) to be studied seriously it seems if the act gets approval the internet would become antiquated. COICA would challenge the websites indulged in any sort of infringing activity, viz. copyright infringement, cracked copy of softwares, free distribution of licensed materials, objectionable materials, etc.  The authorities primarily would list such websites in blacklists and would ask the global communities like google, paypal, etc to block the domain from first list.  However with COICA, they even reserve the rights to clean of the net with such sites.

So what happens with our YouTube?
YouTube being widely used website to share free contents as present has many and uncountable objectionable contents adhering to fall in the bait of COICA.  So to prevent such giants from the threat there might be an underline to the act that, the objectionable content should be removed on notice or complain within stipulated time limit.

So the Big Question
The big question is, in this ever fastening world of internet where infinite chunks of data transfer occurs every nanosecond, does the law with such amendment would yield the desired result.  The books which has been banned or video which has been rated “Remove”, or the software which is “Copyrighted” all would have resulted into thousands to millions to trillions copies. The irony to the matter that restricted things occurs faster and in myriads.

Effects on Indian Pirated Market
If this act is taken very seriously it might affect India’s piracy market and might ease the tensions of the government and ever worrying bollywood industry.  It might translate into restricted resources for software/movies/games download for young budding Engineers and gamers of India.  At the same time the vice versa effect can be the increased use of Compact Discs (CDs) and Digital Discs (DVDs) to share the copyrighted material.  The price of pirated CDs might increase and new softwares, movies, games from west could take some time to reach India (esp. Indian Piracy Market).

 My Opinion
However if you ask me, personally I oppose this act, not for pirated softwares or movies, but for the common good of the word Internet which is derived from International Network.  Let information flow without restriction.  If the knowledge is controlled by few then there are possibilities that we might perceive what they want us to know and not what we should know! For me its about my right to decide what should I read, see, use.  If they think a book should be banned and not published then why not let me decide that!!

The Success Story - Indian Style..!!

Indian Team Celebrates
The most glorious victory in the history of Indian cricket has been brought to us by the most revering and passionate VVS laxman and Ishant Sharma, the gems of Indian cricket team.
Can we imagine a situation where a man not in a position to walk on his feet has climbed a mountain, the same situation happened in a cricket match between India and Australia, where India was struggling for a victory over Australia. At the time when big stars of Indian cricket failed to achieve the target and India were 8 down for 124, in spite of all the hurdles like back pain, injuries etc the very very special VVS laxman came and played a wonderful innings that made India win over Australia, along with laxman the tail ender Ishant Sharma though suffering from knee injury came and supported Laxman to bring laurels for our country, it was just because they both were having the burning desire to be the number 1 team of the world. They were having the self confidence, the courage, the dedication and the desire to be the best.
We all of us have such desire to be the best, but when we see the hurdles in the path of our victory, we turn back just because we loose confidence in ourselves. These players made us learn a lesson that we all can easily beat the best but for that we must have a burning desire and courage to do so, hats off to them.

Ayodhya - The Real Issue..!!

Babri Masjid pre 1992
Anyone following the general awareness is sure to know the hype Ayodhya Verdict has created in recent times.  But obscurely very few are aware of the incidents that had led to The Verdict larger than the Nation.  Few facts about the issue are pointed out as follows.:

  1. Ayodhya is a city located in Faizabad District in Uttar Pradesh.
  2. According to Hindu mythology it was the birthplace of Lord Ram.  And a temple dedicated to the lord stood there before 1527.
  3. In 1527, the Mughal King Babur defeated the Hindu King of Chittodgad, Rana Sangrama Singh at Sikri, and took over the region.
  4. Mughal Empire wanted to rule over Ayodhya as they thought it being located in center of India would serve as prime importance to them. However later they shifted their base to Delhi.
  5. Babur appointed Mir Baqi, in charge of the region as viceroy.
  6. Mir Baqi, allegedly destroyed the temple at Ayodhya and built the Babri Masjid, naming it after Emperor Babur.
  7. During British reign there were many attempts made to build a Temple near the Masjid but the issue being sensitive was reffered to district court and in 1885 the judge ruled out saying "The Masjid built by Emperor Babar stands on the border of Ayodhya.  It is most unfortunate that a Masjid should have been built on land specially held sacred by the Hindus, but as that event occurred 356 years ago, it is too late now to agree with the grievances."
  8. Post Independence in 1948, Indian Government barred Muslims even to be cited around 200 Yards from the mosque, while allowing Hindus to continue offering their pujas to Lord Ram inside the mosque.
  9. But when Hindus demanded some modifications in the Mughal Arcitecture, it created Muslim unrest in many parts of the country.
  10.  In 1950 idols were put inside the mosque. Both sides to the dispute filed civil suits. The government locked the gates, saying the matter was sub-judice and declared the area “disputed".
  11. In 1986 A district judge ordered the gates of the mosque to be opened after almost three decades and allowed Hindus to worship inside the “disputed structure.” A Babri Mosque Action Committee was formed as Muslims protested the move to allow Hindu prayers at the site.
  12. In 1990 the vote politics was initiated by then BJP president Lal Krishna Advani who took out a cross-country rathyatra to garner support for the move to build a Ram temple at the site. And I need not mention that BJP was successful in its tactics.
  13. On 6th December 1992, a rally of karsevaks by then BJP President LK Advani in Ayodhya at controversial land turned into Riot and resulted into demolition of the Babri Masjid.  For this rally a commitment, that the mosque would not be harmed, was made to the Indian Supreme Court by organisers.
  14. The Supreme court ordered a survey to find out whether a temple to Lord Ram existed on the site. And the activity of excavation led to discovery of Stone slabs and other debris inscipted with Hindu Slokas and lines composed in Sanskrit-Nagari Script. On their depiction it was found they were in praise of the human incarnation of Lord Vishnu and mentioned the dedication of a Temple so large in the history to the Lord.
  15. Hence the survey could present evidence of a temple under the mosque. However it was refuted by Muslim groups by disputes, etc.
  16. The Committee formed to investigate the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992 presented its report to Manmohan Singh Government in 2009 after 17 Years.
  17. And finally after 18 Years the Supreme Court decided to deliver the verdict over the anciently disputed case on 24th September, 2010 which got furthed delayed by 6 days to 30th September, 2010.
While the world looks for the decision tommorrow there are skeptism of fresh unrest nationwide and hence the new tentions about communal rage.  While both the parties involved promises to take the decision with right vain, the government has claimed to be all set to keep the situation under control.

That's all from my side. Please share your thoughts, ideas and expressions here in comment..!!
